The night of the election
I’ve lived long enough to know
Not to trust anybody outside your circle
Those hidden behind the political robe
And those crass and covered in ego
But everybody watches
And I can feel their fear echo throughout
Everything feels hollow
And though I only have one idol
I still smoke a bowl
hold my breath
And watch everybody shout
They all want to be heard
Craving so badly to fix it all
A better hope for our children
A thought of freedom instead of the typical cabal
But unfortunately no matter how you lean
They’re all still part of the machine
Leaving the dogs fighting in the cage
The one they all helped create
In the end they’ll be the one having us for dinner
Selling our bones to the highest bidder
Which yard sign do you think
allows you not to be a grifter
choose whichever evil you think is less,
and whatever shall be shall be
Everything that needs to be said has been said
Let us take our bets on when the system will fall
And let us lay in the bed made by us all
